Activity

The objective was "to provide support and help to poor Jews in Žasliai".

It was started orginally on April 20, 1931, when the Žasliaijews - trader, Yeine Burshteiner; pharmacist, Yode Arane; trader, Mordche Shmit; trader, Shmerel Veitzshtein; store owners, Motel Kot and Faivel Rom - requested permission from the Trakai district director to create the Žasliai town society Gmilus Chesed. In a general meeting, the management members were elected: Y. Burshtein , president; M. Shmit, secretary; Y. Arane, treasurer. Sh Veitzshtein and F. Rom were management members. In 1938, the society had 44 members. (1932 - 29 members, 1936 - 31 members, 1937 - 32 members) On July 2, 1940, the Minister of Interior Affairs stopped the activities of this society.
