Activity

The society`s objectives were to support, by any means, the activities which were described as follows: "Purpose of the activities - Jewish Nation. What is the work - to support a Jewish nation in Palestine - especially the poor Jews living there."

The following were elected to the first management of the section: president, Abraham Zas; secretary, Hirsh Baril, photographer; treasurer, Motel Katz, (employment not listed); substitutes, Rivke, daughter of Turetz, photographer; and M. Shimkovich, accountant. Chaya, daughter of Levin; Yankel Turetz; and Sonia, daughter of Shat, were elected to the review committee. In 1938, it was decided to create, for the support of the Jewish workers and their institutions, "Kapaj" Žasliai section library in Berel Baril`s home on Vilniaus Street. On August 14, 1940, the Interior Affairs Minister closed "Kapaj" and all of its sections.
